Big Announcements by ICSI for CS Aspirants – CSEET Changes
ICSI has recently made major announcements regarding the first level of the CS course – CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test). These changes relate to the exam pattern, subjects, frequency, registration dates, fees, and exam mode.
In this blog, I will explain each update one by one, so that all your doubts are completely cleared and you can plan your CS journey accordingly.
1. CSEET Exam Frequency Changed
Earlier, the CSEET exam was conducted 4 times a year.
Now onwards, it will be conducted only 3 times a year:
- June
- October
- February
Registration Windows:
- June Attempt
Registration: 1st October to 31st January
For June 2026 attempt only, registration is extended till 15th February 2026 - October Attempt
Registration: 1st February to 31st May - February Attempt
Registration: 1st June to 30th September
👉 Students are advised to carefully track these dates to avoid missing any important deadlines.
2. CSEET Registration Fees Increased
The CSEET registration fee has now been revised to ₹7,500.
3. Exam Mode Changed – No More Home-Based Exams
Earlier, CSEET was conducted in online remote proctored mode, allowing students to appear from home.
Now, under the new exam pattern, all papers will be conducted at designated exam centers only.
4. Exam Pattern Changed – Subjective + Objective
Previously, all CSEET papers were objective (OMR-based).
Under the new pattern:
- 3 papers will be subjective
- 1 paper will be objective (OMR-based)
👉 The objective paper will continue to have NO negative marking.
5. Major Changes in CSEET Subjects
ICSI has made significant changes to the CSEET syllabus.
The following subjects have been removed:
- Quantitative Aptitude (QA)
- Logical Reasoning (LR)
- Current Affairs (CA)
These have been replaced with the earlier CS Foundation subjects, bringing back a more traditional academic structure.
6. New CSEET Subjects (Total 4 Papers)
After the changes, the new CSEET curriculum will consist of 4 subjects:
- Business Communication
- Fundamentals of Accounts
- Economics and Business Environment
- Business Management and related areas
7. Exam Schedule Changed – Multiple Days
Earlier, CSEET was conducted:
- In a single day
- Total duration: 2 hours
Now, under the new pattern:
- Each subject will be conducted on separate days
- The exam will be spread across 4 different days
8. Passing Criteria Remains the Same
There is no change in the passing criteria:
- Minimum 40% marks in each subject (i.e., 40 out of 100)
- Overall aggregate of 50%, i.e., 200 marks out of 400
